I am just too exciting to share the news from the Star Newspaper out with you all as the "feng yi" and "fu wa" will be soon in Malaysia!!!!!
CHENGDU: Chin Chet Mooi, the Malaysian “adopter” of female panda Feng Yi is excited that the she and male panda, Fu Wa, will be soon in the country.
Chin arrived at the Dujiangyan panda base here in Sichuan province a day before the pandas, Feng Yi and Fu Wa, were scheduled to depart for their new home in Malaysia.
The 55-year-old has been the “adoptive mother” of Feng Yi through a Colorada–based non-profit organisation, Pandas International, since September 2006.
“I am excited that Feng Yi is coming to Malaysia. I am happy that she will be nearer (to me),” she said on Monday.

Chin adopted Feng Yi via a shared adoption which cost US$1,000 (RM3,210) initially and US$800 (RM2,600) for renewals.
The contribution covers the cost of veterinary care, medicine and vitamins as well as daily meals for the pandas and caretakers at the panda bases.
The eight-year-old Feng Yi has been at the Dujiangyan panda base since relocating from the Ya’an base of China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP) together with Fu Wa in late February.
Chin will leave Sichuan on Tuesday night, slightly ahead of the pandas’ departure to Kuala Lumpur, and is set to wait at the MASkargo Complex at the KL International Airport to welcome them.
Chin signed up to be a Zoo Negara volunteer when she found out that the pandas would be housed there.
“I don’t know yet what I will be assigned to do as a volunteer at the zoo, but I hope I will be able to help out in the giant panda exhibit, helping visitors, answering questions, and to do my part to support this loan agreement in a positive way,” the freelance proof-editor said.
Chin added that she looked forward to Feng Yi giving birth to a panda cub in Malaysia.
“As a first-time mother, Feng Yi surprised many when she delivered a male cub in August last year.
“She has strong mothering instinct and the panda base even gave her another female cub to look after,” Chin said.
In addition to Feng Yi, Chin has also adopted another female panda, Gong Zhu, and Feng Yi’s cub, Gong Gong.
